operates Elixir (“Elixir”, “we”, “us”), a personal-finance app for iOS and Android offered to people in the United States. We decide how and why the personal data described in this policy is used. Elixir is not a bank, is not a licensed financial institution, does not provide financial advice, and has no access to your bank accounts without your explicit consent.

• Account data The email address and name you provide at sign-up. Needed to create and protect your account.
• Financial data Accounts, transactions, categories and budgets that you create or that are derived from your data.
• Manual and imported data Transactions and accounts you enter manually or import from files you choose to upload.
• Bank connection data If you connect a bank account through Plaid, a regulated US bank-data network, we receive read-only transaction and balance data with your consent (see section 3).
• Usage data Which screens and pages you open and which buttons you press, a random identifier, referral and campaign tags, device type, and the country implied by your time zone. After you sign in we can tell repeat visits from new ones. We never record what you type or look up your IP address. Details in section 10.
• Money Style quiz If you take the Money Style quiz on this website before you have an account, we store your answers, the result, and any optional note about whether it felt like you. We use them to show your result and, if you later create an Elixir account and enter your recovery code, to personalize the app. We do not put the answers or the recovery code in ads, analytics, or the link to the app store.

Bank account connection is read-only and performed through Plaid, a regulated US bank-data network. You authenticate with your bank; we never see or store your online-banking login credentials. We only receive transaction and balance data to display in the app. You can disconnect a bank at any time in settings and delete the imported transactions.

Your data is stored on our servers in the United States. Data in transit is protected by HTTPS (TLS) encryption. Access is limited to what is needed to operate the service.

We don't sell your data. We share it only as described here, under appropriate contracts, and only to the extent required:

• Plaid If you connect a bank, Plaid (a U.S. bank-data provider) sends us read-only transaction and balance data at your request. See section 3.
• AI providers Onboarding preferences may be sent to an AI provider. Those preferences are never transactions. Separately, when you ask a question in the in-app assistant, relevant transaction data may be sent to an AI provider so it can answer that question.
• Published exchange rates If we show an amount in another currency, we may use a published exchange-rate feed. That feed does not receive your personal data.
• Google Analytics On this website, unless you opt out, Google receives page-view and similar usage data through Google Tag Manager / Google Analytics, used only to understand how the site is used. This does not include your bank data.
• Microsoft Clarity On this website, unless you opt out, Google Tag Manager also loads Microsoft Clarity, which records how people use the pages (clicks, scrolling, and session recordings). Quiz choices, the Money Style result, and feedback you type are masked in those recordings. It does not receive your bank data.
• Reddit On this website, unless you opt out, Google Tag Manager also loads the Reddit pixel so we can measure our Reddit ads. It receives only the event name — a page view, starting the quiz, a result, a new account, or tapping to get the app. It does not receive quiz answers, names, emails, or bank data. A browser Global Privacy Control signal keeps it off unless you choose Allow non-essential.

We may disclose data if required by law or a valid legal request.

• We don't sell or rent out your personal or financial data.
• We don't show ads in the app or on this website.
• The Elixir app does not load advertising SDKs. This website does not send bank data to Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, or the Reddit pixel. The Reddit pixel does not receive quiz answers, names, or emails.
• We don't request access to your bank without your explicit consent.

• To provide core features: accounts, categories, budgets, spending analytics.
• So the AI assistant can answer questions about your own finances.
• To categorize transactions from connected banks and imports.
• To maintain account security and prevent abuse.
• To understand how the website and app are used so we can improve them.
• To remember your Money Style answers until you claim them, and then to personalize guidance from what you stated.

• Access and correction You can view and edit your data directly in the app.
• Account deletion You can delete your account together with all data in one tap in settings. A Money Style quiz you have claimed is removed with the account.
• Bank disconnection You can disconnect a connected bank at any time and delete the imported transactions.
• U.S. state privacy rights If you live in California or another U.S. state with a comprehensive privacy law, you may have the right to know what personal information we collect, request a copy, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We do not sell your personal information. The Reddit pixel shares an event name with Reddit to measure our ads. Opt out any time through “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” in the footer, or choose Essential only on the cookie notice. A browser Global Privacy Control signal turns that pixel off unless you choose Allow non-essential. We will not deny you the service or change prices because you exercise these rights. Email the address in section 11; we aim to respond within 45 days. You can also delete your account in the app.
• Usage data You can turn off usage data in the app under Settings → Usage data, and on this website through “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” in the footer.

We keep your data while your account is active. After you delete your account, we remove your personal and financial data from our servers, keeping only what we are legally required to retain, and no longer than necessary.

A Money Style quiz taken before you have an account can be opened and claimed for 30 days with a recovery code. The code expires sooner than the quiz. After 30 days the quiz can no longer be opened or claimed. Once you claim it, deleting your account removes it with the rest of your account data.

Unless you opt out, this website may set analytics cookies. Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity (through Google Tag Manager) and the Reddit pixel may set cookies on your device. The Reddit pixel stays off when your browser sends Global Privacy Control, unless you choose Allow non-essential. The Elixir app does not set cookies for analytics; it uses on-device storage. You can turn usage data off in the app under Settings → Usage data.

On this website and inside the Elixir app we use storage in three ways, and we treat them differently:

• Strictly necessary. Your sign-in session, a few interface preferences, and, if you take the Money Style quiz, a cookie that lets this browser resume that quiz. Without these the app cannot keep you logged in and the quiz cannot save your place. The quiz cookie is not sent to advertising services.
• Our own usage data (optional). A random identifier and a record of which pages and screens are opened and which buttons are pressed, used only to improve the product. After you sign in we attach it to your account so we can tell repeat visits from new ones. Alongside it we record the site that referred you, any campaign tag in the link you followed, your browser and device type, and the country your browser's time zone points to. We never look up your IP address. We never record what you type into input fields. On this website this runs unless you opt out. In the app it runs unless you turn it off in Settings → Usage data. The same identifier is carried from this website to the app unless you opt out here, so that one visit is not counted as two people.
• Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, and the Reddit pixel (optional, this website only). On this website only, unless you opt out, we load Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, and the Reddit pixel through Google Tag Manager. Analytics and Clarity show which pages people read and how they move around the page, including clicks, scrolling, and session recordings. Quiz choices, your Money Style result, and anything you type in feedback are masked in those recordings. The Reddit pixel receives only the event name — a page view, starting the quiz, a result, a new account, or tapping to get the app — so we can measure our Reddit ads. It does not receive quiz answers, names, emails, or bank data. A browser Global Privacy Control signal keeps the pixel off unless you choose Allow non-essential. These providers may set their own cookies. Opting out stops all three immediately.

Measurement on this website is on until you choose Essential only, or use “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” in the footer. Either one turns non-essential cookies off in one step. Allow non-essential turns them back on. This does not change how the site works. In the Elixir app we do not show that prompt: usage data is on unless you turn it off in Settings → Usage data. Turning it off also erases our identifier from your device. On this website, turning non-essential cookies off stops our own analytics, Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, and the Reddit pixel immediately.

We may update this policy as the service evolves and will update the date at the top of the page. For any privacy questions, write to us at support@elixirfinance.app.

When you contact us, we process your message and the email address on your account so we can reply. Support emails may remain in our inbox after you delete your account.
